Updated GMP Structure

Project Transforming Hope

The Good Miami Project (GMP) began on October 18th, 2020, as a small idea to give back to the community with my photography. The project has since flourished into an initiative beyond my wildest expectations, capturing over 50,000 images for more than 50 organizations. These images have fueled fundraising campaigns, volunteer recruitment, press, and even reports to Congress. The work has been exhibited at the Main Public Library, Adrienne Arsht Center, Brightline station, bus stops/digital signs across the county, and featured on Impact Edition magazine covers/articles and countless social media platforms.

I am eternally grateful to all the organizations that partnered with me to make images that tell their stories. I am incredibly proud of the work we have done together. There is nothing better than seeing the images being used to help others, and I cannot wait to work with more organizations.

I would like to continue partnering with the organizations and, most importantly, the people who make Miami such an amazing place, so I am making some changes to the project to hopefully allow it to continue and, who knows, maybe scale larger.

My sweat and photo kit have mostly funded the Good Miami Project (outside of exhibits), which I have been lucky to do for four years. I have also had other financial support, from winning an Elle Creator Award last year and a Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Grant this year, which have been extremely helpful. I have also been lucky enough to have volunteers who have helped in many ways, and I cannot thank them enough.

Today, I am announcing a new structure that hopefully balances providing pro bono and low-cost image-making services and ensuring the project's sustainability. I agonized over this a lot, but I feel it is the right thing to implement to make the project last and be fair to my other life obligations.

I will ask larger organizations to consider paying more to help smaller organizations. Importantly, there will always be pro-bono shoots, especially for smaller non-profits[1].
The structure, which I will detail on the next page, is meant more as a guide than set in stone. I welcome feedback.

Sincerely,

Greg Clark
