I Played Here

My journey photographing for non-profits started with the Overtown Music Project (OMP) around 2011. OMP’s mission was bringing music back to Overtown, which was known for its nightclubs, such as the Knight Beat and Harlem Square, before I95 was built, ending that era. Today, most of these music meccas are long forgotten. I started a project called I Played Here in 2012, photographing musicians in places where they had once played.

Fast forward to 2024, and I am excited to announce an exhibition of the work at Hampton Art Lovers - Historic Ward Rooming House Gallery later this month.
